FAQs

About the flowers

What are your flowers made from?

I make my flowers from 90 and 180 gram Italian crepe paper. I add colour using Natural Acrylik paint to add detail but also for better colour longevity. Other materials used include floral tape, wire, glue, and hot glue.

Why are paper flowers more expensive than real flowers or artificial flowers?

Paper flowers are handcrafted with care and attention to detail. Each petal is cut, shaped, and hand-painted, creating a realistic bloom that lasts for years, unlike real flowers that wilt in days.

While artificial or silk flowers may be cheaper, many are mass-produced from plastic, which is less sustainable and often lacks the delicate detail and craftsmanship of handmade crepe paper.

With paper flowers, you're paying for time, skill, and quality materials, as well as a lasting, eco-friendly alternative that brings joy far beyond the lifespan of a fresh flower.

Will my flowers look exactly like the photos?

Each flower is handmade, so no two are exactly the same. While I carefully craft and hand-paint each petal to match the style and colors shown in the photos, slight variations in shape, colour, or texture are natural—and part of what makes each stem unique.

You can be confident that your flowers will look beautiful, realistic, and full of character, just like the photos!

Are your flowers sustainable?

Sustainability is important to me and I endeavour to use environmentally friendly materials where possible. Unlike many artificial flowers or "silk" flowers which are made from plastic-based synthetics such as polyester and nylon, crepe paper is more environmentally friendly, letting you enjoy beautiful blooms without a heavy footprint. The crepe paper I use is FSC certified.

Caring for your flowers

How do I care for my flowers?

Crepe paper flowers are sturdier than they may seem. However, do keep them away from direct sunlight, moisture, and heavy handling. To remove dust, gently brush them with a soft brush or use a cool hair dryer.

Do the blooms fade? How long do they last?

I hand-paint all my paper flowers to preserve their colour for as long as possible. Over time, colours may naturally fade slightly, which can add a charming, lived-in beauty. To help them last even longer, keep them away from bright sunlight. With proper care, your crepe paper flowers can bring joy for many years to come.

Shipping and Returns

Where do you ship?

I ship across New Zealand using NZ Post. A flat fee is charged depending on your location.

  • $12.90 for the rest of North Island
  • $19.90 for South Island

Free shipping will be provided for orders above $120.

How long will it take to receive my order?

For any flowers marked as in stock, they will be dispatched within 2 business days. After dispatch, delivery times are dependent on NZ Post. Depending on where you are, this may take up to 2-3 business days and possibly a bit longer for rural addresses.

Custom or pre-orders are likely to take longer. Expected timeframes will be communicated and agreed upon when your order is accepted.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

Because every piece is handmade, returns for change of mind cannot be accepted. However, if your order arrives damaged, please contact me and I will make it right.

Can I make a custom order?

Yes! I love working on custom orders and creating something unique just for you. Please get in touch with the details—what you're looking for, colours, size, and any other ideas. While I aim to accommodate requests, I reserve the right to decline a custom order if it’s not feasible. Once we've discussed your ideas, I'll let you know if I can take it on and provide an estimated timeline.

All your items are sold out?

I keep a small selection of premade flowers ready to go, but most items are made to order. If you'd like a specific bloom, you can contact me to request a pre-order, and I'll create it just for you.
